July 2016

Patrick has had a varied mix of work this month with a nice balance of performing, recording and arranging.

Again there has been many functions including weddings, corporate events and graduation ceremonies with all of them taking advantage of the beautiful British weather – sometimes!

Patrick was also performing on Sky television’s ‘A League Of Their Own’ alongside comedian Jack Whitehall and former Olympic sprinter and hurdler Kriss Akabussi. It was a great day and real laugh as you can imagine!

Midway throughout the month Patrick recorded trombone and bass trombone on the upcoming album from former X Factor winner James Arthur. The horn section performed on 5 tracks on a Motown inspired album expected to be released later in 2016.

Later that week Patrick was recording trombone at Abbey Road Studios in the world famous studio 2 (home of many of the original Beatles recordings) for the ‘Make A Wish’ charity alongside the cast of the long running touring show ‘That’ll Be The Day’ for a new single to be released later in 2016.

Alongside the performing and recording this month, Patrick has been transcribing some big band arrangements for the critically acclaimed London City Big Band. The charts are from the 1959 Shorty Rogers Big Band Album ‘The Wizard Of Oz’ and features the cream of the crop of the Los Angeles session scene.
The London City Big Band will be performing the album as well as other big band classics at the world renowned Jazz Club, Ronnie Scott’s on September 11th.
